About Me

I am a photographer in a small town in Northwest Ohio (Delphos area), specializing in outdoor and on-location portraiture. I also have a small studio in my home for indoor portrait sessions. I have dabbled in photography for many years, and after a lot of practice and research, started offering photo sessions in 2011. I am continually learning new things about photography and perfecting my technique...there is always more to learn!

I have been married to the best man ever for 20 years and we have a teenage daughter and son. My immediate and extended family have been incredibly supportive of my journey into photography and have been my test subjects many times over the years!

As my business continued to grow I knew I needed to make some career changes. So at the end of 2015, after 17 years as a dental hygienist at the same office, I decided to devote my full time attention to photography and retired from the dental world. It was a tough decision to leave my co-workers and patients after all those years together! But I am so happy that I had their support and the support of my family & friends and was able to follow my dreams!

I remember having my kid's photos and family photos taken at the local department store studio and every time we went it was stressful and rushed. Typically that showed in our expressions and that is often what I remember when I look at those photos now! The goal I have for my clients is to provide a relaxed photo session that you will remember as a fun memory. I like to capture natural expressions: laughing, a true smile, a serious look, a pout, a look of surprise, a candid shot... we don't walk around smiling all day long. I want to create photos that make you want to jump into the picture.

Whenever I am driving down the road, I constantly see things I want to capture with my camera…I just can't help it!! I see beauty everywhere! An old barn, a crumbling building, and un-mowed field, a rusty old truck...the possibilities are endless. I love to combine these areas with the perfect light, and create a beautiful area for a photo session. I also like to get creative and add vintage and antique props to create something unique for my clients. I love going to antique stores and flea markets to find old stuff that I can bring back to life by adding it to a session. I spend time before your session making sure you are confidant in your outfit choices and picking out coordinating props to bring along.

I have dedicated a lot of time to learn how to properly use photoshop as a tool to enhance photos and really make your photos stand out! I have also spent time investigating and testing many professional print labs for the best quality, so I can offer the best products to my clients.
